Finally we have enough snow to get going. We are anticipating some good snow starting on Thursday and lasting through the weekend. 

Staff Training 2011

Thanks to RECCO, Dale Atkins and Flight For Life for fantastic supplements to our annual staff training. Staff training ran from November 29 – December 5 2011, Dale and the Flight For Life crew braved the cold temps on December 5^th and showed up to provide some outstanding onsite training.

Last night we received 6-8” new. Last Saturday’s storm graced us with about 8-10” in some of the sweet north facing terrain. Totaling 16-18” in the last week.
Starting on March 28th Sunday $225 per person or $2,000 for a private cat.

Snowcat update & November news
The passenger cabin is now mounted on the snowcat and ready to go except for a few minor electrical connections. She is looking fantastic and we are trucking her over to the operating area next week.

October storm hammers Jones Pass with 2 feet of snow. New passenger cabin arrives on Friday.
We are well on our way to a great season, more than 2 feet of new snow fell  October 25-27th.

Tom Winter came out on last Tuesday and brought Niall Bouzon the Photo Editor from Skiing Magazine and two pro skiers who ski for Liberty Skis, Alex Applegate and Kyler Cooley.

Jamie – I just wanted to say that Tim, Mike, Andrew, Jeff, Barry and I had a fantastic time with you folks on Saturday.  We were especially impressed with the steepness of the terrain.

We're now back in good old Germany and here 6" new snow waited on Sunday for us. Unfortunately we have no hills here and our region is very flat.

12” New in 96 Hours Best Powder Skiing in 2010

Yesterday was the best powder skiing of the season at Jones Pass. It started snowing on Sunday mid day, by 8pm there was 8 inches new snow. We had several squalls come through on Monday and Tuesday leaving another 4 inches new in its wake.

Good day of exploration in the operating area. Finally enough snow for guests. Found mixed results in the snowpack at higher elevations.

Our new shop located in the Village at Winter Park is now open! Stop by and check it out.

The snowcat is almost ready to be trucked over to Jones Pass. Timmay the rock star of the last blog, custom fabricated some ski boxes for us and they look really nice.

Guide Training November 20, 2009

The mechanic is still finishing up a few things on the snowcat so we decided to hike in, get some much needed exercise and see how much snow there is.

We purchased an oldie but a goodie! you are looking at an older model LMC in cherry condition. It has low hours on a new motor and low hours on the machine overall. Right now it is parked in the lot at Beaver Village. We are doing a bunch of preventative maintenance and other modifications.

About 6" of snow left from the most recent storms, primarily on the North aspects at or near treeline.

Snowcat should be delivered by next week
