5-hour workshop - How to perform a successful companion rescue.

The clinic will include the following:

Importance of beacon skills (burial time-survival statistics)

Beacon operation and search principles

Demonstration and practice of initial, secondary, and pinpoint search

Probing and shoveling techniques

Rescue practice scenarios for single and multiple burials

Level 1: Backcountry Ski Class $300 Per person

January 6-8th & February 10-12th 2012

This 3-day course is for skiers and riders who want to learn the basics of backcountry travel.

Students will learn:

Tour planning

Route finding and travel protocols

Snowpack stability observations and tests

Pit profiles

Decision making skills and tools

Companion recovery

Guide School $550 per person

April 5-8, 2012

This 4 day class will focus on teaching the aspiring guide the basics of mechanized and backcountry ski guiding. A level 2 Backcountry Ski Class will be part of the curriculum. A full day of mock snowcat ski guiding is also included. Please call or email for a full outline.

 Guided Backcountry Skiing and Riding $150 per person 3 person min


Hire a guide for the day and ski or ride as much as you are able, the guides can provide as much or little education as you want or just be the guide to our local powder stashes. Call for details!
